Jeff,

If you're willing to go a little farther, you can get more accurate with a 
little work. Install libnova, an astronomical library, and then 
genutahsky, my full-color Radiance sky module. Sun positions use a pretty 
intense calculation, and are even color-shifted at low angles based on 
turbidity.
