You could place analysis points at 5-degree increments along an arc at a distance of about 25 feet (or 8 meters) from the center of the luminaire with the orientation vector directed straight back to the luminaire center, then multiply the illuminance value obtained by this distance squared to return the intensity values that go into the IES file.  This would need to be repeated at 22.5-degree azimuth angle steps to complete the vertical sweeps at different horizontal angles.

Hi Adriana,

Good to hear from you.  While it is possible to convert this information in the other direction, it would be very difficult.  You would have to figure out which data conversion was performed and invert the operation, and there are no tools to help with that.  It would be much easier to edit the original IES file to somehow match the changes you made to the *.rad output.

Hi Everybody,

I was wondering if it is possible to create a *.ies file from a *.dat and a *.rad file. Originally, I used the ies2rad command to obtain a *.rad and a *.dat file from an IES file. Then I did some edits on the *.rad file and now I would like to create an IES file again. Is it possible?
