Hi,

at Fachgebiet Lichttechnik of Technische Universität Berlin we are interested in evaluating road lighting design based on contrasts of small targets between two luminaires (visibility level). Therefore we have developed some tools to create luminance image series with Radiance in python and some evaluation tools for plotting the data in MATLAB. The Radiance simulation part is mainly based on the examples within that book:
@book{WS:radiance,
Author = {Gregory J Ward and Robert Shakespeare},
Publisher = {Morgan Kaufmann},
Title = {Rendering with Radiance },
Year = {1998}}

If you're interested in simulating road lighting with radiance, too, you're very welcome to have a look at this repository:

Best regards
