[Radiance-general] running radiance on multiple cores

So much for that hypothesis.
I've just managed to produce versions of the problem on a Linux, a
FreeBSD, and a Mac OS system. :-(
Same Radiance model and scripts; probably three slightly different
versions of Radiance.
