Hi Jia,
You should not have to worry about layer conversion/mapping in revit if
you are going fbx->obj. However, your families will need to have useful
materials assigned, where useful is defined as a unique name rather than
a <by category>, does that make sense?
When you "save as" obj from Rhino there is a checkbox for materials that
you should check.
