Hi Ignacio,

I'm not sure of your question, but there has been work on what's  
called "radiance caching" (as opposed to "irradiance caching") by  
Pascal Gautron <http://www.irisa.fr/siames/Pascal.Gautron/> and  
Jaroslav Křivánek <http://www.cgg.cvut.cz/members/xkrivanj/>, among  
others.
