[Radiance-general] lightpipes/ports

Hi Jan,
 
Thanks for the pointer. I've downloaded the pmap 4.3 version and tried
to compile/install (after performing a fresh installation of radiance
3.7), but the pmap installation is unsuccessful, with the following
error messages being generated by 'makeall install' during the
compilation:

: undefined reference to `getacoords'
../lib/libpmap.a(pmapmat.o)(.text+0x1afb): In function
`dielectricPhotonScatter' :

`dielectricPhotonScatter' :
: undefined reference to `mylog'
../lib/libpmap.a(pmapmat.o)(.text+0x1b51): In function
`dielectricPhotonScatter' :
: undefined reference to `mylog'
../lib/libpmap.a(pmapmat.o)(.text+0x1db1): In function
`dielectricPhotonScatter' :
: undefined reference to `mylog'
../lib/libpmap.a(pmapmat.o)(.text+0x1dd9): In function
`dielectricPhotonScatter' :
: undefined reference to `mylog'
../lib/libpmap.a(pmapmat.o)(.text+0x1e01): more undefined references to
`mylog' follow
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [mkpmap] Error 1
make: Target `install' not remade because of errors. ~/rad3R7/ray/src
 
Do you have any idea of what might be causing this?

Hi Erico,

you probably should use the current version of photon-mapping(4.3),
which is for the RADIANCE 3.7. Roland made this new version some weeks
ago.
I'm not sure, if this helps in your special case, but I never had such
problems with using photon-ports and I used it several times without any
problems (I always used the 3.28 version for RADIANCE 3.5). 

We are actually reorganizing our web-pages and unfortunately the English
(web)version is not available and the German version shows a bug in
direct linking. That's the reason, why I haven't posted it to the
community yet.

Anyhow, it is already on a Web-page for downloading. 
You can get it on:
http://www.ise.fraunhofer.de/german/fields/field6/mb4/index.html then
follow link on "Lichtsimulation", then "RADIANCE", then "p-map"

problems until I use the examples with “ports”. It falls into what seems
a loop where the progress reports give me an exorbitant 30,000% (it’s

Does anybody have worked with the ports option and bumped into this
abnormal behaviour?
