Hi Rob et al.,
The pcomb(1) man page really needs to be reformatted. Originally,
there were just a couple of special-purpose variables for this tool,
but I kept adding more and more and sticking them in the man page until
I couldn't find anything there when I looked for it there, myself.
I'll see if I can get around to reformatting it tomorrow.
Regarding "fileformats.pdf," this was a hopeful chapter in RwR along
with the most essential reference manual ("refman.pdf") and a source
tree guide, but the book was getting to long for Morgan Kaufmann so
they were all relegated to the CD-ROM, along with all the man pages.
(I don't think anyone really wants a full book of Radiance man pages as
part of the text, so that's OK.) The materials description file
("materials.pdf") is also important reading for anyone who is doing
critical work on Radiance materials.
Another basic introduction to Radiance and its uses is given in the
lecture notes files "backgrnd.pdf", "analysis.pdf" and "rad.pdf".
These files as well as the above are of course linked on radsite:
http://radsite.lbl.gov/radiance/framer.html
Some of these materials are a bit dated, but that comes with the
territory....
