reading list:

classic by now)
- SynthLight chapter 1: Fundamentals of lighting and vision:

(highly recommended! Sexy looking PDF to print out and put under your 
pillow)
- Colour and vision database: http://cvrl.ucl.ac.uk/ (lots of data sets 
on all things related to lighting and vision, e.g. v(lambda), rods and 
cones sensitivity, chromaticity charts)
