If you're talking about modifying the source to get a different version
for different things - that's also not my job. If there's a need to add
specialized programs there should be a development package, which
provides the necessary headers and (statically linked) libraries. Moving
the most common (and not changing) functions into a shared library would
also be an idea for the future. It doesn't make sense to recompile the
whole package if you need an additional tool for one project, or if you
need to change one function.
