Hi Bernd,
It was my understanding that the proposal was to modify the users $PATH varrible to include the /usr/radiance/compat/whatever path. This means Greg doesn't have to re-write all of his code and makes it possible that a rview/genbox namespace conflict may arise.

you're missing something here.
The compat links won't reside in /usr/bin. So there's no need to remove
them at all.
