Greg - very nice little set of scripts and apps.

http://kirkt.smugmug.com/gallery/1156911

is a smugmug gallery of a test sequence and tone-mapped LDR of a shot
out the window of my office. I also took the tone-mapped TIFF and
made some moves in the L, a and b channels for tweaking. No masking
was done, so all of the pixels got moved - I think the tone-mapped
LDR could probably benefit from some masking during color
manipulation, as those hot areas like outside the window get that
funky ethereal glow about them. This kind of thing is more for
aesthetics than quantitative lighting analysis, so I plan to take
some liberties.

Note - for the JPEG sequence on the smugmug site, down below the
large image is a link to view the EXIF data if you are curious.

Super cool. The whole process took about 30 seconds for the sequence
capture and output to HDR.
